One advantage of having Dr. Montgomery or our ultrasound sonographer performing your ultrasound is that you will have the results of your ultrasound immediately instead of waiting. Dr. Montgomery’s patients will have an ultrasound at every prenatal visit.

The Birth Center has 2 state-of-the-art GE 4-D Voluson Ultrasound machines. Depending on fluid volume, position of the baby, and skin thickness, it is very possible to get an intra-uterine picture of your baby's facial features. There are many factors that can affect visualization, but Dr. Montgomery or our ultrasound sonographer will do their best to get a good "face-shot" for you. Mothers-to-be are encouraged to utilize the best in prenatal diagnosis performed by a specialty-trained physician like Dr. Montgomery for assurance of each baby's well being. Dr. Montgomery reviews the heart, lungs, abdominal organs, bone growth, blood flow, and all other body structures.

It is not necessary to be our patient, or to be high risk, in order to take advantage of this excellent diagnostic tool and Dr. Montgomery’s expertise. We recommend that you check with your insurance company on your ultrasound coverage benefits and whether or not you need to have a referral from your primary care physician. Your ultrasound results will be shared with you during your visit, and a report will be forwarded to your obstetrician. You have the option of bringing a video tape with you for recording your ultrasound visit.
